Paris: Manzi, Joyant, 1906. First Edition. Original Wraps. Acceptable. Item #054343
Language: French. There is a prior owner's stamp and signature on the first (blank) page and another small stamp on the half-title; some noticeable foxing on the first and final signatures, otherwise pages are clean and neatly preserved. The signatures remain securely stitched, if the first two are starting to loosen. The original wraps are included but have separated completely from the page block and show creases and wear along the spine, a few edge tears, and some age-toning at the edges, and the stitched binding is quite relaxed. 262 pp. Number 459 of an edition of 500 numbered copies. This is a handbook of rules for duelling with special attention paid to the roles of witnesses, written during the push to develop a standard code that would respond to the 1777 Irish Code Duello.
