Pages bear conspicuous handling prints in preliminaries and two prior owners' names at front endpapers, as well as patches of foxing scattered throughout; binding is moderately relaxed, but remains secure; full cloth cover bears open tears and fraying at corners and spine ends, pale spotting at the right front, darkening and attenuation of gilt titles at spine, a dark adhesion at the lower rear, and thin surface tears along the rear joint, yet remains overall solid, the decorative blocking still striking. viii, 7-286pp.
