This deck includes many elements of the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck, but the cards are reimagined as campy vintage horror-movie posters from the 1940s-80s (e.g. the High Priestess card features an evil nun staring into a crystal ball, 5 Wands features five battling kaiju, and all the cups in the Cup cards are hollowed-out skulls). Many cards also incorporate a suggestive tagline for the “films” depicted to aid in interpretation (e.g. the Emperor card says, “Ultimate authority rests with HIM!”; 10 of Swords says, “An ALARMING Tale of DOOM!”; and 10 of Pentacles says, “The Gang’s All Here!”).
