Signed by the author on the front free endpaper, with no inscription or date. Crisp, clean pages show only a bookplate at the front fixed endpaper and mild toning at edges and endpapers; full cloth hard cover bears only mild softening and points of surface wear at spine ends and corners. Jacket is priceclipped and shows small open tears at spine ends and corners, noticeable fading and some spots of shallow scuffing along the spine, handling smudges visible in light-colored areas, and a few brief wrinkles along foreedges, yet remains overall intact, the front design still striking, now protected in a clear sleeve. 311pp. incl. index. The author was also a colorful figure in the history of American medicine, but his stepdaughter's fame eclipsed his (Nancy Davis Reagan).; Signed by Author.
