In this flip-and-write game, you will design a subway system on a map that is provided for you on a pad of paper. In one round, each card will be turned over from a shuffled stack and will indicate a station symbol. Players will all connect one matching station on their own maps to their own before the next card is flipped. At the end of the round players will score their maps by a variety of criteria (e.g. how many districts of the city are covered), and then switch colored pencils so that differently colored lines can cross one another. After four rounds the player with the highest overall total wins. This version of the game is inspired by the Yamanote Line in Tokyo and features a green line preprinted on the pad that brings additional strategic considerations for a more nail-biting experience than the London game, e.g. any station on the green line that you don’t connect up with a second color will give you negative points. Best for 1-4 players (very best with 20 aged 8 and up.
