79 cards with 104-page illustrated guidebook. The “old style” of the title refers to line drawings in the style of tinted woodcuts with chiaroscuro effects evocative of the work of Albrecht Dürer. The iconography generally follows the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition with some of the artist’s own interpretive elaborations. E.g. the 3 of Cups features a raucous scene of an entire village around a maypole, and the discs on the Pentacle cards are not uniform but feature different designs of various types of alchemical, occult, and astrological significance. Deck comes with a blank card to represent infinite possibilities, similar to the blank rune.
