The Golden Key to Prosperity and Happiness: A Complete Educator Embrancing Thorough Instruction in Every Branch of Knowledge

Burlington, Iowa: I. F. Segner, 1885. Full Leather. Very Good. Item #00081874

Full leather with gilt titles and gilded page block edges. The title page has a short, closed edge tear with accompanying crease; a few leaves show ghosts of flower pressing; the front hinge is loose and both hinges are starting; the leather is noticeably worn at corners with wear to the board at the bottom left rear corner, scratches and scuffs, a pin-sized hole at the front gutter and another at the rear; and yet, this elaborately decorated guide including alphabetical list of flower meanings, travel hints, the State Seals, how to treat nosebleeds, a brief encyclopedia of biography with entries from Aesculapius to Brigham Young, etc. remains overall attractive and fascinating. 432pp. Would make an excellent gift for those interested in the history of Iowa or of domestic education.

Price: $55.00
