Pages clean except for a prior owner's bookplate inside the front cover, a brown droplet stain affecting the lower right corners of the front endpapers and preliminaries up to p.3, an area of spotting at the left side of the title page and a few additional spots in the margins of the first half of the book, and gentle toning in the margins throughout; binding is modestly relaxed but square and secure; the spine is somewhat faded and bears lines of light surface wear along the sides and modest fraying at the ends, and the rest of the full cloth cover bears some softening and edgewear at free corners, scuffing along the heel edges, a tiny open tear in the cloth at the bottom rear and two short abrasions at the top rear, and scattered surface chips on the pictorial pastedown at front along with three small tears and attendant creases at the bottom edge, otherwise attractive and well-kept. 339pp.; 12 color illustrations plus two-tone title by Maxfield Parrish.
