Item #79101 Munchkin. Steve Jackson.

Munchkin

Steve Jackson Games, 2001. Illustrated by Kovalic, John. Card Game. New. Item #79101

Wil Wheaton calls this “a delightfully cruel parody of role-playing games.” Each player competes to be the first to ascend through ten levels on the gameboard. Players play cards from their hands to give themselves abilities and strength points. The part of the game master is played by a deck of cards that throws challenges at players, like monsters to fight. Other players can help a fellow player in distress by playing cards that increase the player’s combat strength or decrease the strength of monsters... though they might only help in exchange for treasures. Or they might sabotage a fellow player, or strengthen monsters, for more cutthroat play. Much of the humor in this very silly game is in the "gotcha" plays, but the best satire is always the one in which your dungeon party kills each other with laughter. Best for ages 10+ (strong reading skills needed, some violence); 3-6 players, 1-2 hours playing time.
