Clean pages, with no owners' marks, though modestly age-toned at hinges and page block edges; full cloth cover shows pale spotting in the gutters and some fading and softening at corners and spine ends; dust jacket is noticeably worn, with an open tear at the lower rear (with loss of text), another at the left front edge, and numerous edge tears, scuffs, as well as a few gray marks and deep fading along the spine, but is now protected in a clear sleeve. 321pp. incl. index. Of historical interest: the other books advertised on the interior jacket flaps, which appear to date from 1941, describe an alarming political situation in Europe.
