Clean, with no owners' marks; pp.407-422 show light folding at top free corners, hard cover some mild softening at spine ends and light shelfwear around heel edges. Dust jacket is priceclipped and bears a tape repair over a long, closed tear at the top rear, several other very short edge tears and creases, and a thumbprint-sized patch of toning at the spine, otherwise clean and attractive, with a vivid painting of mallards on front and a war bonds ad on the rear interior flap. xiii, 533, x pp.; extensive b/w photo illustrations and 16 color plates by Lynn Bogue Hunt (all intact and bright, free from foxing).
