A presentation copy, with a signed letter from the author dated in August of 1926 and sent from the the R.M.S. Franconia. The pages are clean except for the occasional fingerprint or line of dust in outer margins; the three bound-in charts at rear show small edge tears at the bound edges but are otherwise crisp; both sets of endpapers bear toning as from laid-in newsprint but remain attractive. The full cloth cover, with inked titles and illustration on the front board, shows considerable darkening along the spine and front foreedge, scattered pale orange spots front and back, small bumps to the top free corners, and some shelfwear and softening at corners and spine ends, otherwise sound. 111pp. Early edition of a popular reference for new voyagers by ocean liner.
