The Atomic Revolution

1957. Staple-bound Softcover. Good. Item #072190

A promotional industry comic with a forward by Gordon Dean, former chairman of the United Stated Atomic Energy Commission, asserting the overall hopeful possibilities of the "Atomic Age", with the caveat that wisdom will be needed to enhance the hope and restrain the destructive capacities of the industry. The pages are bright and crisply printed, bearing only some shallow creasing at the bound edges and bottom free corners; the saddle staples bear rust and are just starting to stain some pages, but remain sound; the cover shows a small tear at one end of the upper binding staple, short creases across the bottom left rear and a few thumbnail creases along with a small, closed tear at the top rear edge, a thin line of surface scuffing along the spine, and a few shallow, short edge chips along the top front, otherwise vivid and well-kept. General Dynamics Corporation asserts on the final page that if governments can set aside war, exploration of space will yield abundance for all. 32pp.; two-tone illus., no named artist(s); no original price indicated.

Price: $62.00
