Pages clean except for occasional foxing, mostly around edges of full-page illustrations and on the facing text leaf, including the frontis; the margins also show modest toning, and a few corners have been folded; the binding is moderately relaxed, but secure, the full green cloth cover somewhat dimmed around front and rear edges and along the spine, with some flaking of the inked titles and illustration at the spine and rubbing and small fabric tears at the spine ends; the front illustration remains vivid, the free corners turned slightly inward with wear at each tip and a spot of fraying at the bottom right front, otherwise sound and attractive. vii, 267pp.
