Crisp, clean pages except for two small pen marks in the index; binding square and secure; bound-in ribbon marker is modestly frayed and yellowed at the end; full red cloth cover is rubbed at the corners and shows small spots of fraying and rubbing at spine ends, a line of rubbing along the spine and a short scratch across the middle of the spine, causing some flaking of the inked decoration and dimmed gilt titles. Textured, metallic gold-colored slipcase bears surface wear along edges, one short scratch on the front and another on the back, and some wear with spots of rub-through at the corners, as well as some grayish fingerprint spots on all panels, otherwise clean and sound. 252pp. Head edge gilded, cover decorated in three ink colors with gilt accents. A charming little volume.
