Pages crisp and clean except for three small tears to the tissue protecting the frontispiece and mild age toning throughout. Binding is relaxed with some shaking and short paper splits at hinges, yet remains square and secure. Full black cloth hard cover turns inward and bears light bumps, rubbing ,and some fraying at the free corners; there is a slight upward turn along the front heel edge; a few tiny specks follow the edges and are lightly scattered at the upper rear; the cloth over the spine shows shallow wrinkles and light surface wear as well as spots of fraying and wear at the ends, otherwise sound. Gilt titles at front. 177pp.
