Crisp, clean pages with no owners' marks and only two strips of toning on the front free endpaper, otherwise bright; binding square and tight, full cloth cover bearing a few small, pale spots on the front and some rubbing at spine ends, otherwise excellent. Jacket has a long, closed tear at the top front, two short, thin, whitish lines at the right front, some chipping along the head edges and at spine ends, spotting and light toning along the spine, and a little light surface wear along the spine sides and foreedges, otherwise clean and sound, now protected in a clear sleeve. 279pp.
