This 2-player cooperative combines elements of board games and role playing. Players begin at a spaceship crash site surrounded with hexagonal tiles representing different terrain types and tokens representing types of alien creatures that the castaways will encounter. Additional terrain hexagons are added and new creatures are spawned as rounds progress. Players collect resources from the terrain hexagons and use them to compete objectives (e.g. build three scout towers) but gain hunger and loneliness points between rounds. In between rounds players further role play as the planet’s creatures, whose characteristics (e.g. carnivorous and aggressive) are indicated by icons keyed to an intricate icon sheet. Players win if they complete their objective before dying of hunger, loneliness, or violent attack. For two players aged 13 and up; approximately 90-150min per game.
