A Coe College Memoir

Parthenon Publishing Group, 1977. Hardcover. Very Good in Very Good dust jacket / Very Good. Item #039250

Signed by the author "With Warm Best Wishes from Coe", but with no recipient named, on the title page. Clean pages except for mild dust spotting on the top edges; square, secure binding, red cloth showing only modest softening at the spine ends; dust jacket bears a short, closed edge tear at the top front, one at the top rear, and a few at spine ends, some chipping at corners, some light surface wear front and back, and a little open tear at the bottom front, but is clean and otherwise sound, now protected by a clear, archivally safe sleeve. 142pp. The late president of Coe College remembered student life, visits from Arnold Toynbee and Martin Luther King Jr., notable faculty such as Marvin Cone, and more, but perhaps his most amazing contribution to the college is not in the book: he donated every penny Coe had ever paid him back to the college. His dedication to the liberal arts meant that much to him, admirably.; Signed by Author.
