New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1991. First Printing. Hardcover. Very Good / Very Good. Item #065129
Signed by the author on the title page with a remarkable inscription to a peer about the inspiration for the novel. Clean and bright except for a touch of dust staining at the spine ends of the hard cover, a brief, neatly closed tear at the heel of the jacket, and a small crease at the top left front of the jacket; a bright and well-kept, unclipped first printing with the jacket now protected in a clear sleeve. 371pp. It's often hard for actual Iowan farming families to talk about this book, but I suppose that's because we're used to talking with presidential candidates every four years. We know how to talk about hog@^$% futures, but we're suspicious of that which so painfully resembles truth.
