Chicago: Rand McNally & Company, 1916. Sherwood, E. Hugh. Hard Cover. Good / No Dustjacket. Item #060797
Pages crisp and clean except for scattered fingerprints about the margins and a prior owner's crayon illustration on the last (blank) page; no owners' names or collection marks; a bit of toning around the page block edges. The binding is square and secure, the pictorial paper boards somewhat chipped at spine ends and corners, with two short, closed splits at the upper left spine edge, a little spotting and surface rubbing on the back, and just a few tiny surface scuffs and a short scratch to the illustrated front; overall bright and attractive, though this is a decidedly odd book (think Cicely Mary Barker plus Charles Kingsley, gone a bit sentimental, though the illustrations that are in color are unfortunately rather offset). pp, illustrated nearly every other page throughout.
