London: G. et W. B. Whittaker, 1823. Half-Leather. Good. Item #047197
Two volume set. Languages: Greek and Latin. Parallel text pages, clean apart from a prior owner's name written at the front free endpaper of both volumes and just a little light foxing scattered throughout. The bindings of each volume are a little shaken at hinges but remain square and secure. Volume 1 has some toning at the corners of the endpapers; spine ends and corners show some scuffing, and the surface of the leather along the spine has small scuffs and flakes, one partly obscuring the translator's name. Volume 2 also bears rub-through at corners and spine ends and surface chipping and flaking along the spine. Both volumes have some rubbing along the edges of the marbled paper boards. Yet the leather and marbled paper remain attractive; the page block edges are marbled also; the text pages are still startlingly bright, the print quality high. 367pp + 267pp.
